Abbsar Bhat lives in Kashmir and builds Go Kashmir, a free trip-planning app for the valley, available on Google Play and in the browser.

How Kashmir Almanac is made

Kashmir Almanac guides are researched and drafted with AI (Claude) from official notices, climate records and dated reports, then checked against each linked source. The sources are published and dated: official notices, the India Meteorological Department’s climate records, the Ministry of Tourism’s Incredible India pages and dated news reports. Each guide lists its sources at the end and shows when it was last checked. The guides don’t claim personal visits.

The app

Go Kashmir covers 133 places in the valley. Each place shows its season, the estimated road time from Srinagar, entry and permit notes, and whether it is closed, with the date that was checked. It plans trips of 3, 5, 7 or 12 days and day outs that get you back before dark.
